Hexahydrophthalic anhydride (HHPA) is used as an intermediate for coating resins, plasticizers, insect repellents and rust inhibitors. It is also used as a hardener for epoxy resins. HHPA is preferred in casting and coating applications due to its higher resistance to yellowing.
