XY P-1000 is the liquid p-aminobenzoate di-ester of PTMEG 1000. Because of its reduced reactivity, P-1000 can be used as a room temperature curative for both tDI and MDI systems and prepolymers. It is also used as a flexibility modifier for glycidyl type epoxy resins.
XY P-1000 is a di-functional, aromatic diamine with the chemical structure shown below:
The reduced reactive and liquid nature of the P-1000 diamine at room temperature increases pot life and workability at lower temperatures. This affords greater forgiveness in cast polyurea operations; the lower processing temperatures results in lower shrinkages of about 0.3% vs. systems cured at 80°C. P-1000 exhibits good system compatibility, especially with polyether prepolymers, therby reducing the likelihood oh phrase separation in the casting or coating process.
